A Journey of Brazilian Flavors in Japan
It all started in 1993, when Nogami, inspired by his travels around the world, began teaching Japanese classes at a local church. It was there that he noticed that his students not only missed speaking their language, but also missing tasting the delicacies of home. And so an idea struck him: “Why not bring these familiar flavors to Japan?”

And so The Amigos was born. More than just a store, we are a little piece of Brazil in Japan. With four stores in the Tokai region, we specialize in imported ingredients and quality meats. And if you can’t visit one of our stores, don’t worry! Since 1997, we have been shipping quality products all over Japan, initially through mail order, and now through our website. In 2023, we modernized our online brand, changing from “Asianfoods” to “The Amigos Asia”, strengthening our identity.
For those of you in Nagoya, we have a special invitation! We run an American barbecue restaurant where you can enjoy the best cuts of meat, the fruit of our passion for meat.

We offer everything from prime cuts to more affordable options, always with the best quality, thanks to our supply partnerships. Our dedication has already earned us awards, such as the American Royal BBQ Contest in 2017 and the Cowtown Steak Classic in 2018, two of the largest barbecue and meat competitions in the USA.
